We’ve all used sparklers in our backyards on the 4th of July since we were children, but did you know that there are many other ways to use sparklers throughout the year? Sparklers used to be difficult to find other than around the summer months, but now you can buy them all year long; you can even have them shipped to your house online! With sparklers being so easy to come by these days, here are 4 unique ways to use them that you probably haven’t thought about.
When most people think of sparklers, they picture the classic style that comes in the form of a stick made from either wood or metal. However, there is another type that you can attach to the neck of a bottle, and they are known as bottle sparklers. They are cylindrical in shape and look like an upside down crayon, and they shoot sparks more like a fountain than like a regular sparkler. You can get gold bottle sparklers or you can get the color version, but either way the effect is the same. Bottle sparklers are popular in restaurants and nightclubs, but they also wok great for home parties.
Whether it’s for your birthday, an anniversary, or a wedding, using sparklers in photos is always a fun experience. All you need to do is set your camera for long exposure time and then you can write things in the air with your lit sparklers. You can draw shapes, make outlines of people or objects; pretty much anything you could do with a pen and paper. Because of the long exposure setting, it will pick up the light over the course of a second or more which will make the entire shape show up in the photo.
At Your Wedding
Over the last few years more and more couples have started to use sparklers at their wedding. You can use them for a variety of things including centerpieces, wedding favors, or during your grand exit, so there are plenty of creative ways to integrate them into your celebration. Though there are a lot of different sizes available, the most popular size are called #36 wedding sparklers which indicates that they are 36 inches long. You can also get them in 10 inch and 20 inch versions, but they won’t last nearly as long as the 36 inch wedding sparklers.
Instead of Candles
Instead of using candles on your birthday or anniversary cake, you can use sparklers instead! All you have to do is replace your normal cake candles with sparklers, light them, and wait for them to burn out before you start cutting the cake. You can’t blow them out like traditional birthday candles, but the show is much more entertaining. Using sparklers instead of candles is just one unique way that they can be used, but if if you put your mind to it you can come up with all sorts of amazing ideas!
